Hey I have a 2015 1500 sport. Currently running 22x14s on 37’s. My suspension lift is a 6 inch rough country along with a 3 inch performance accessories body lift. I’ve had it done in late October of 2021. So far everything’s been great besides my driver side lower ball joint went bad. (Expected ball joints, bearings etc. to go bad eventually). I was wondering if I could fit 40’s and maybe get quick lift struts to raise the front a couple inches higher? I’ve seen a few 1500s with 40s but wasn’t sure how they fit it without rubbing bad. Let me know,
Thanks
Added a couple pics of my truck.

With the modifications you have you could probably fit them,
With that said just because you can doesn't mean you should!
I have 37 by 12 and a 1/2 BFGKM threes on my stock 2022 power wagon, On stock rims.
I just did a 2000 mile trip and did some heavy off roading. That's as big as I'd go even for a solid front axle on the heavy duty ram.
If you're running that stock front end Ifs, on a ram 1500 and you're planning on putting forties, You're gonna have a lot more problems than just ball joints with that independent Front suspension.
Do you off road it? or is it a street Queen? that's not meant to be a dig, it's just a legitimate question as there's a big difference between driving around on the street and wheeling it.

I wouldn’t even think of 40s on a 1500! I’m really thinking of downsizing from my 37/13.50/20 to a 35/13.50/20 as I would like to get the pep back. Mind you. My truck is highly modified (FBO) cammed, regeared, and stage 5 ATS trans. I have 35s in my shed wrapped around 24s. The only reason I don’t run them now, I bought -51 offset 20’s that installed with the 37s. I had to use 2” spacers with the current 35s which I didn’t like. I could tell the difference as spinning the 35s was easy to do with the 456 gears. However with 37s, not so much and a heavy tire. Truck still moves though. 37s are also hard on the front end on these 1500s, 40 you would more then likely be blowing things apart once in awhile and your ride quality would almost likely suffer. Just guessing though!

I am probably going with 40s or 42s when I need new tires lol ... I already have the 4.88s gears for them, just need the extra lift ...

I drove an older 1500 with 40s a few years ago and it wasn't bad at all, I was initially going to go with 40s from the getgo but they didn't have them in stock and I still needed the extra 3" of lift to clear them lol ..

Best of luck on your endeavour lol. I’d like to see how those 40/42s ride and that suspension holds up. Next tire for me will be 35s though.

Unless you like driving a considerable amount of time on bald tires i wouldnt think they would last quite that long. Put a depth guage on them and see how much less they are compared to knew…bet its more than you think.

Not going bald anytime soon lol
Yep. Looks like a 20k mile tire to me. Like i say, check the tread depth, they look fairly worn to me. Not far from the time i typically try to sell them for decent money towards a new set…because tires half worn or more typically do not perform anywhere near as well when new.

I always check the tire pressure ... rotate them when I have to ... I am overdue on rotation though but to me they are wearing very well ... I have seen 20k mile tires on other trucks and they are not like mine, they are all cupped and you can no longer see any of the siping .... very happy with these tires ...

Put a new one next to it…it will turn your lights back on
These tires are fine, will easily last me another 2 years, I don't drive the truck much so not something on my list of priorities lol .... no reason to spend money on new ones right now or anytime soon ...

Yea I completely get it. Im not dawgin ya at all.

Heres a few pics of my falken atw3’s with 39,229 miles (almost 4 years old now). I thought they still looked new as well…till i measured the tread depth. They are actually a lot more worn than i originally thought. However still work real well even in the snow…so gonna keep running them.

How much did it cost you to do the 4.88s gears? And what are you adding for the extra lift?

I payed $850 since it's only 2wd ... no extra lift, just have the 7" maxtrac lift kit .. I "am" planning on doing the 3" body lift but the power boards get in the way ... I would have to do a notch of the mount bracket on the rear cabin mounting points ...

Cheech, I commend you for not having your wheels and tires stick out a foot from the truck. i will never understand why people do that. Just to sling rocks I guess.
