Woah. Phew. Ok. Deep breaths. Nexen tires suck. That’s a widely popular opinion. I get it they’re new. But I’d trash em. The factory Firestone’s are crap too. Hell all tires that come factory installed are pretty much crap. So you got to 59k miles and things start to break. I’ll say this and I’ve said it a lot. If anything breaks that’s not covered in the bumper to bumper warranty I wouldn’t be going to the dealer to get it fixed. They’re always EXPENSIVE. They seem to be covering some stuff under the factory 5/100k drive train power train warranty. I’d let them fix what they’ll fix for free. Batteries. Batteries die it’s a 2014 I’m assuming possibly on the road since 2013? That’s 5 years on a battery. Not bad. Turbos do go out on all makes. Again why go through a dealer. We all know they rip us off. I feel for ya repairs suck. But they’re all going to break down. Plenty of people with rams both gas and diesel have very minimal issues if any.

Just gonna fix it and dump it to some poor guy that cant afford to fix either!! Gonna buy! An 07 with a 5.9!!! I've always supported Dodge! Felt that buying a Toyota wasn't good for our country!! And technically Ram trucks is a foreign company now!!

If I was replacing a turbo outside of warranty, I would be looking at aftermarket and upgrading.

Thats what I did, $ 3,000 and I had a 2nd gen manifold and bigass turbo. The dealer here wanted $4,800 to do a stock replace.
My stock turbo went out around 120k on my 07 6.7.

IMHO you'll never find anything as good as the 5.9 was. Sorry for your problems but they all have problems, some more often than others.

Rams are designed and engineered here in Auburn Hills. All 1500s are assembled in Michigan. And soon all the HDs will be too. In the global everything of 2018 that’s pretty much the best you’re gonna get.

Pretty much this. The 5.9 and ford 7.3 are just simple beasts. But they also all had their own issues. Be lucky you don’t have a 6.0 :anitoof:

Why would the turbo not be covered under the 5/100 powertrain warranty?

Also, EGR cleaning is a scheduled maintenance item. Plenty of videos out there on doing the EGR valve and EGR cooler cleaning for less than $100 in parts (mainly gaskets).

Lastly, where you been for the last 4 years of ownership and only saw the need to join to ***** now that you claim to be swearing off the brand?

I don't blame you and would be done with ram if I were in your shoes. The old 5.9's were built for 500,000 + miles and seem to be holding up. The problem is they are selling at a premium price for anything worth buying. Friend of mine just paid $25K for an early 2007. Nice truck but that's a lot of money for an 11 year old truck.

If the front tires were gone in about 5-7000 miles, the wear should have been quite noticeable in the first few months of ownership! More to the point, you didn't say how long the next set of tires lasted, or what they were, or what, if anything, you did differently.

Does your truck pull the the right side of the road? People thought I was crazy that mine does.Ram saying we made it that way. Took a level and checked my front wheels and found my pass wheel is tipped out 3/8 of an inch at the top causing wear and pull.Going in wednesday to a shop to have an adjustable balljoint installed.

When the top of the wheel is tipped outward, it is called "positive camber." Camber does not normally affect steering, but it does affect tire wear. However, camber on one side works in conjunction with camber on the other side. An observation of one wheel's camber, in any terms at all, doesn't mean much.
You'd have to be certain that the point where the driver's side wheel rested was exactly at the same elevation as the passenger side, too. Generally speaking, it is better to have the camber on the driver's side slightly more positive than the passenger side because of road crown. That said, I don't know how the specs are listed these days, but if they cite it as "left side/right side," it very easily could have been set up backwards because many, many people today do not know that left side is driver's side, including people working on front ends.

Positive Camber Effects
When your front wheels have a positive camber, they are inclining outward. This creates more stability because it will cause the vehicle to pull to each side.Camber angle adjustments are not meant for normal everyday vehicles that you see on the main roads and highways. They are meant for unusual vehicles like tractors, airplanes, racecars, and things like that.

I stopped saying “left side” or “right side” and just use “driver side/passenger side” now.. at least I can be sure we are all on the same page!
