My line of work has me down muddy, bumpy, and dusty gravel roads on a regular basis. I came off of shift at night, left the soupy and muddy worksite, and bombed down the logging roads in 4WD Lock to get to the highway.

Unfortunately, once I reached the highway I accelerated and went in a straight-line on dry pavement for 10-15km at around 120km/hr. As soon as I noticed the small yellow 4WD notification on my dash was still on, I was hit with gut-wrenching feeling and immediately put her back into 2WD.

My tranny didn't explode and nothing felt different, do you think I've done any damage?

Also as a side note, I had my 'Service Airbag' message blink on when I hit a big pothole recently. It's gone away. Damn you oilfield roads, damn you!

I doubt that you did any damage. Do you have the transfer case that has the AWD setting on it? If so, it doesn't really lock without some loss of traction, even in 4WD, so you definitely didn't hurt that one.

If you were to damage the xfer case in any way it would have involved some obvious noise.

Air bag warning was probably just a connection that got interrupted somehow by the pothole impact. I wouldn't worry about that either if it didn't stay on.

These trucks are tougher than you think.

Driving straight is not an issue. Taking off from a red light and turning right is where you'll hurt things.

Same here.

maybe 130km/h is for auto? either way it shouldn't damage anything as long as you're not turning or actually trying to engage it at those speeds but i'd assume just like going to 4low it won't actually let you engage it over the limit

weird. mine is shift on the fly, no 4wd auto option. still says 130km/h.
