So when you guys say airbags, are you referring to the airlift 1000 type? Or something else?

Depends on what your towing or hauling. I had a 13 that had a 2/4 drop. It would hit bump stops with a good load on it. Not sure on weight exactly it was bricks like 20 of them. But if your gonna tow/haul frequently rear helper bags would be a good investment.

You must have some heavy toys.....my truck with NO air bags handles my 6500 lb camper and my 3500 lb boat just fine. No problems, no excessive sag......

Lol in a 1500? Shoot set on the tail gate and it saged, I put 12 small bags of rock in it from homedepot and it dropped 3" if not more.

Really? Mine sagged to the bump stops with my 5500 lb travel trailer and I changed the rear coils out right after the first tow as a result.

I do use a WDH with the camper....with the boat, the rear does drop some, but it still sits higher than the front when driving just like every 1/2 ton tuck I have owned.

Gotcha...noting in the bed usually, but I have had 5 or 6 50 lb bags of gravel, still didn't drop bad.

Heck, I also hauled a d30 & a D35 axle in the bed (complete cherokee axles), no issues then either. But that weight wasn't all at the back............
