I'm new to the whole 4x4 scene so please bare with me but I've noticed I've been spinning my 37s a lot lately ( raining in Washington ) and I was curious why so I started doing some research and I'm pretty sure I've got an open diff front and back. So really my 4 wheel drive is only 2 wheel. One in the front and one in the back correct?

If so what route would you guys do to make this more of a true 4x4. I daily drive this truck to work and I get a lot of rain in Washington and sometimes some heavy snow. I also go hunting in eastern WA a lot and there is tons of snow and really muddy trails. I don't want to have to worry about getting stuck.

I was thinking trutrac in the back and Air locker/electric in the front. Or would I be better off with lockers front and back?

Also they don't make a air locker that is also a LSD when its not locked do they?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'm pretty sure there are no lockers for the 13's, so your best bet is an LSD in the rear (one for sale on the site right now)

Assuming you have a 1500 you are always going to have a open front differential. No one makes any sort of upgrade because they aren't big enough or strong enough to handle the increased loads a locker or limited slip would provide.

We used to call that a "Lincoln Locker" after the name of the welding machine - Lincoln. There are more road friendly and drive train friendly ways to lock a differential with aftermarket parts. I used to use a Loc Rite in the rear and front diffs of my Jeep but others used a clutch pack locker in the front (Detroit IIRC).
