5.9 engine build

Wasnt going to start a post until i was assembling, but what the heck! Ill let you all in on my newest project!

I picked up a 5.9 out of a 1998 ram 1500. It was from a friend who decided to part it out after he bought a 08 cummins. The engine had 98,000 miles on it and ran fine (all stock)



So far all i have done was removed the plenum, water pump, exhaust manifolds, and 1 of the heads to see what im dealing with







This is going to be a full rebuild and is getting built! Then its being swapped into my truck.

Dont know exactly what im going with as far as cam, heads, or intake. But i have a long ways to go before i get to ordering parts!!

Im not exactly sure where to go with this one yet. I still drive my truck while i build this engine.

Havent gotten much further into the engine yet. It does have a pretty deep ridge for the milage it has on it. So im probably going to have it bored out a little.

I have been getting a rough parts list together of the parts im going to go with for sure ( valve springs, lifters, oil pump, etc)

The rest will come shortly!!

The block is finally off to be hot tanked, then bored. Probably know more about where im going with this build around tuesday.

There is no real spending limit honestly. I'm going with quality parts, that will greatly improve power and torque, and still be able to be daily driven!

As for updates, i really have none. Its been sitting ready to be bored out. I have my parts list, but nothings real solid until the pistons are here and its bored!
