Just put a 5" lift on my 2003 dodge Ram 1500.

Has 17 inch rims

Picked up some used nitto 35x12.5x17 trail grapplers

They don't fit. I need about an inch and a half of clearence.

Question is will 2" wheel spacers solve my issue?

When you say they want fit are you referring to height or the wheel itself is hitting the new knuckle and will not slide onto your wheel studs? If its hitting your knuckle then yea a spacer would fix your issue. Is this a rough country lift?

It's not the lift that won't fit. The wheel offset isn't adequate to mount a wider tire and maintain clearance.

Spacers will help with the clearance issue and move the tire out towards the wheel openings.

You might need some longer wheel studs to accommodate the spacers and give you enough thread to properly torque the wheels. Are your 17" wheels OEM?

You will want 7 - 10 total lugnut revolutions prior to the nut bottoming out on the wheel to insure proper fastening.

Yes it's a rough country lift. The new tires are hitting the nuckle.

Gotcha. I have the same lift. No stock wheels will not fit with this lift not that it does you any good now. Being that you already bought the tires a spacer would be your only saving grace without having to buy new wheels.
