So I've been looking around for an affordable way to mount a 50" led bar on the roof of the ram and have come up empty handed so far. I'm a little impatient so I went ahead and ordered the light bar while I was waiting and decided to buy some steel plate and mess around with fabricating my own brackets. It went pretty well, but when it came time to start drilling holes in the body, I decided I'd probably be better off if I drilled them for something I was sure would workout. So, being impatient, I said F@$k it and ordered a couple brackets from SoCal SuperTrucks. Terribly overpriced, but I'm sick of waiting.

Below is a link to a few pictures of the brackets I made up and the bar in place and lit as it would have sat if I had actually bolted it on. More pictures to come when the new brackets show up!

Thanks for looking!

Daaayum! That's going to be awesome. I like the brackets you made.
Why'd you chicken out?

I was planning on using self tapping screws in door jam so if I did decide not to go ahead with it, or mess it up it would be easy to hide. I did drill one hole, but when I did, I realized that the pillar has reinforcement inside, meaning there isn't much room for any type of fastener. That, and the fact that drilling that one hole just about made me throw up, gave me cold feet. lol

CJC posted pictures of their 4th gen brackets just the other day
Their brackets put the bar a little further ahead of the windshield to reduce glare
How much were brackets?

Ive been waiting to see the CJC brackets for a while, I'll check them out when I get a chance. The ones I ordered from SoCal were $199 plus shipping. Came in at around $240.

CJC cost the same I believe. Way too overpriced and keeping me from installing one of these.

CJC's 3rd gen brackets are $65 which is a couple bucks cheaper then their between tow hooks brackets
They don't have their 4th gen brackets out, hopefully they list them soon

I saw a $199 price tag somewhere.. Need to find where. I think it was a projected price, not an official one.
