I had to drive over 300 miles for work the other day to pick up replacement sewer cameras. First long trip since sorta broken in. I'm at 3300 miles! And I was very surprised on my fuel econ! My damn girl reset the trip meter before I took a pic but I averaged 17.8 mpg and my average speed was 74ish! This was up the California coast which is hilly and twisty! My truck is 4x4 Cc with 4.10 gears!

I have the same truck. The computer mpg is off the greater the mpg it shows. You were probably getting about 16.3 mpg if you hand calculated it. Also, gas pumps vary in the amount they put in when you fill up. You need to do it over many fill ups.

Sounds like the same truck I have, I have got 17.6 17.7 several times. With the headers I have got 18.4 on one long trip . I am from the central coast and have drove HWY 1 several times. but was not aware you could drive that fast up parts of it. Not sure I would.

I have checked mine by hand a couple times and about 2 tenths difference.

Gas pumps better not be that fare off, most states check them to make to make sure there on the money.

It's not that they give out more or less then a gallon. It is how much they pump in before cut off.

I check mine by hand every fill up and I'm usually about .5-.6 off. Mine is the same except a 2018 with the 6 speed trans. I have had a couple of shorter road trips and my EVIC read between 16.5 to 17.5 so I'd guess at least 16.0 to 16.5 hand calculated. I'm sure I could get 16.5 to 17.0 consistently but most of my driving is in town

I'm at 700. Showing 13.9. But I've done mostly short driving and after 500, a modest amount of towing

That's about all mine was off. Keep my foot out of it 16.8 - 17.3.

My hand calculation is about 1.5 to 1.7 less than what the EVIC says. I averaged 13.3, almost all of it in town last tank and when I hand calculated it came out to 11.7. I don't check it every tank but usually every 2 or 3 tanks just to see if its being constant.

Mine averages 14.4 for last 1000 miles. On the HWY much better I have one drive rural that I get 18 about 70 mile trip flat as a pancake drive about 57 MPH. But overall not bad IMHO

replacement sewer cameras.

That's pretty good MPGs and I agree the Evic may have been a bit optimistic.... still good though for the size of these trucks.

I'm interested in the sewer cameras.... I use them for doing home inspections. What do you use them for?

Curious as to if your larger tires have an affect on the accuracy of your EVIC? Most on here seem to have said theirs is off by maybe 1 MPG at the most while my 2007 1500, 2013 1500, and 2018 2500 have consistently been .5 or so off. My trucks were 100% stock except the 2007 and 2013 had K&N filters. The 2018 is 100% stock except my Weathertech floormats...lol.

It does seem the harder I am on the pedal, whether via towing or just driving faster, the further away my EVIC gets. One time my hand calculated was actually higher than my EVIC but that's once out of about 200 fill-ups so an outlier there.

I have put different rims and tires on but they are the same as stock. The tires are 275/70/18 and the rims have a little more offset in them. I do have a K&N CAI and Magnafow Muffler installed with around 20k miles.

My 18 shows 1 mpg higher than hand calculated. Always towing with mine so don't have a good read on unloaded, but a few weeks back I got hand calculated 10 mpg with 10-11k gooseneck LQ horse trailer. In my book that's reasonable. Especially with gas prices right now.
