Ok, thanks. Low miles, kind of why I switched to Redline 5w40 at 2000 miles.

I don’t believe oil has anything to do with it. It’s an ECU problem that’s causing the misfire.
And as long as the oil and warranty are free I’ll use whatever they want to put in it.
I’m not being pissy just stating the fact. Oil has nothing to do with this problem.

Oh good, glad it's an ECU issue, I was thinking it was internal engine.

No. The deep engine tech said it’s most likely an ecu problem because it is missing on 2 & 8 so fast the diagnosis computer can’t capture the codes to pin point the exact problem.

You seem to have an excellent dealer to work with, they could sure teach other dealerships a lot about taking care of the customer!

Firebird I know that’s so true. I hear a ton of people here bad mouth their dealership while I’m really proud of mine. I’ve done business with them off n on for since 1999. They ain’t always the cheapest but they are the best. They’ve gotten so much better at their pricing and are knocking the other local dealership out of the water.
I bought a Ram from the other dealership and Hoyte still took care of my issues even though I didn’t buy it from them. So the next 3 trucks came from Hoyte along with this truck being a total count of 6 vehicles I’ve bought here. And I promise every vehicle I buy in the future will come from Hoyte Dodge Sherman Texas.
I think it’s special when they know you by name before you speak to them. They greet you with a smile handshake and your name.
They don’t care how many vehicles you test drive as long as you find the one your looking for. If they dont have it they will go get it for you.

That has been my experience with Keene Chrysler, Keene NH, too. It's in a convenient location. Good dealerships deserve the praise and the customer loyalty. It's good to see McBroom's experience. It's very similar to mine, going back to around 1995 or so.

IDK they say it flashes so fast they can’t catch it on the diagnostic computer. They can just see it’s on #2 & 8. So I assume it’s clearing itself. IDK

Day 8!

Got a text from the dealership this morning.

They’ve opened a case with FCA about the misfire.

My service advisor said it might take up to 4-5 days for a response or decision on the next steps. I was told they’re trying to get the code from #2 & #8. Though #8 seems to be the culprit they can’t get it to code. Now the #8 cylinder is beginning to hear a slight knocking sound.

I’m beginning to wonder about a possible buy back. If this becomes the case (buy back)

Will I have the opportunity to remove the mods and what do I do about the replacement truck?

Anyone have any ideas about what happens during the FCA buy back process??

So is the computer causing issues. Or engine? I’m sure they’d try to replace something first. Maybe you’ll get a new engine and computer

I’m still unsure which they’re doing. I would believe the put it in the holding pattern out back until they hear from FCA.
I do wish things moved as fast as I do.
But I also understand **** takes time.
I’m having some serious withdrawals missing my Blue Mule.

See that if it was an oil burner it wouldnt have plugs...no plugs no problem.... Just kidding :D
Mack, I hope they keep treating you right and they get your baby back to you asap!

Chris:)

Yeah me too brother. If it goes into a buy back which I pray ain’t the case. Then it will be a oil burner.
I suppose I should call the finance company to see what the options are if in deed it does become a BB.

It amazes me that techs today can't fix anything without a computer telling them whats wrong. It a misfire, have they even pulled the plugs to see what they look like?

I know where your coming from. I don’t know what they’ve done with it other than the diagnostics

You have a good dealer, just sit there for a bit and see what they come up with. Some folks on here who had some issues I read about while researching before buying my previous 6.4 had some knocking issues in the first run 6.4's and FCA replaced the motor and I believe all was good after that. I would expect them to do that if indeed it is internal, and i'm sure it will be fine. As was posted, I wouldnt expect a buy back out of this, at least not until they have made a few failed attempts at repairing it after actual problem is found. You may get a new motor and or Computer though!

I’m being patient. The BB is a fear simply because I love my truck.
I feel like I have the best service department in north Texas. The base model loaner is a nice truck too.
Speaking of the loaner. I tried pulling a small trailer Saturday and the trailer light plug doesn’t work on the truck. I guess I’ll have to stop by the dealership and get them to turn it on. Sales code maybe? IDK
