6.4 Hemi with 4:10, 2018 with 18K miles..violent "clunk" when put into gear if parked on incline.

As of like 2012 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram stop putting transmission dip sticks in most of their veh. This forces the customer to have the dealership check the trans level. They use a temp/ level chart and the scan tool to tell the mechanic when the trans is full. So I can see the owner of the veh not knowing the fluid is low if they have not had the dealership check it for them.

Yup...I have a 2014 without the dipstick, and that bugs me to no end!

Setting aside the comments about parking on an incline using the brake hold/set parking brake/set transmission to park process is the wrong conclusion. By doing so you are "hanging" the mechanicals of the transmission on the parking pawl and subjecting it to extraordinary and un-needed stress.

The process is 1) Pull into your parking spot and apply/hold the brake pedal. 2) Set the Parking Brake. 3) Put the transmission in Park. 4) Release the brake pedal.

2018 6.4 should have 66rfe with dipstick.
even if theres no dipstick its still the owners responsibilty to look after the vehicle or suffer the consequences. not try to blame everyone else.
when you buy a vehicle, whether new or used, check every fluid first thing. why leave anything to chance

The clunk is normal, set the parking brake. Wait until it gets torque locked due to the weight and you can’t get it out of gear.

We bought a brand new 2006 Jeep Commander and when I found there was no dipstick I thought it had broke off and been inside the tube. Called the dealer and was shocked to find there was no dipstick. I guess it was the Mercedes trans and apparently they did this so people would be required to bring it in to the dealer so they could assure there were no 'customer initiated issues'

when i got a new ram few years back i went over that thing with fine tooth comb within first couple days. who spends $50k and 'hopes' the fluids are full
