My order from crucified came today.Awesome company to deal with by the way. I thought I was putting the 6x9 in the front doors. Obviously they won't fit. :doh2:How will it sound with the 6.5 in front? Im keeping the head unit and have no amp. I bought the 4 ohm resistor if I need to wire it in later for the dash.

This is what I got. Screenshot_20200430-082126_Email.jpg

I thought the front doors were 6x9s? Maybe that’s just the Alpine system that has those. Looks like you have a nice setup.

I know in June when I do my upgrade I’m getting a Maestro DSP alone with a 6 channel amp and 2 sets of Alpine S 6x9 component speakers. I’ll put the 6x9s in the doors and the tweeters in the front dash and where my surrounds are. Should sound sweet. I may go with an 8 channel amp to do the tweeters to to clean up their sound as well. I’m not sure.

I’ve got the 6 speaker setup in my truck too. When I upgraded my speakers I put 6x9’s in all 4 doors. The front door just needs a little spacer so they’ll fit.

I know the voices in my head aren’t real, but man, do they ever come up with some great ideas.

True  then do you think I should return the 6.5 and get another set of 6×9 for the back.

Install the 6x9’s in the front doors and see if you like them. If you do then return the smaller speakers and get the 6x9’s. I don’t regret doing that in my truck.

When I first replaced the speakers in my truck i had the 5.0, I hated that radio. The speakers made it sound much better. I then put an aftermarket one in and the speakers sound even better.

get some spacers for the front 6x9s, you should be able to go up to 3/8ths, 1/2" and its hell trying to get the panel back on. I use to have all the depth measurements for all the speakers down pat. I used 1/4" on my focals and the work just fine, what happens is it hits the window frame bracket that goes up and down.

For a spacer on my front doors I just used some of that foam weatherstripping. It gave me the thickness I needed. It sealed good between the speaker and door. And of course I happened to already have some.

If I'm not mistaken, many prefer the sound of 6.5s over 6x9. You may want to try them out and see if you like them?
