Pushing 1000 horsepower for an airboat ..wonder what it would do in a Ram pick up?

Sounds like my buddies engine...but his is 598 cid, and pushes 1100+ hp.....but it does require race gas to feed it's single 1450 cfm carbs' appetite.

He's detuned it some since he drives it on the street now......

Impressive.

Wouldn't it be awesome to just put that 10.9 liter emblem on your huge cowl hood.

wonder why you don't see more ducted fan airboats. Not only would you get more thrust but it would also be quieter. Probably the downfall would be the suction velocity at the inlet.

Probably exactly that. IC or turbine powered? If turbine, cost as well as a DEFINATE Inlet issue! Fuel, maintenance etc

For most it would have to be a normal IC. The upside to a turbine it is could be set up to run on diesel but the maintenance cost especially if your around salt water would be expensive.

Funny you mention, turbine/diesel. I used to fly RC aircraft couple of guys out there(Way above my paygrade) had actual turbine aircraft, ran on diesel/or actually kerosene i believe. Radar at 250mph!
