Today I added a Rockford Fosgate DVC 8" Sub to my 2016 Ram Laramie. With no extra power added, it didn't make much difference in sound. However, if you play something really bass heavy, you can tell this little sub wants to make some noise. I'm adding Fosgate 3 1/2" coaxels to the dash as soon as they come in, and I'm sure I'll get the same result. So this got me thinking:

If I use two four channel amps and tap into the factory system I can wake the whole thing up. One would work as a front channel boosting the 3 1/2's and the 6x9's in the front doors (which I'll be upgrading soon to Fosgate to keep everything the same) via an AudioControl LC6i that I already have. Then the other four channel will boost the rear 6x9's (again upgraded to Fosgate), and the sub I added today via another AudioControl LOC. This will give me factory upgraded sound and keep the balance and fader control. Also, the computer voice will still work as well

Thoughts?

so you took the factory sub out of its factory box and put the rockford in it place? sorry it most likely wont make much difference and the enclosure and the factory amp are designed for the factory sub. the sub you put in is most likely under powered.

IMO dont bother with the 3.5" in the dash. get rid of them, put a set of components in the front doors and the tweeters in the dash. use your 4-channel amp 2 channels to the components and the other 2 to the sub. because the positioning of the rear speakers an amp to them is pointless IMO.

I know this. Trying to keep everything factory looking without spending a ton of money. Experimenting here

Gone that route before. Was never happy with summing a signal. Since the factory sends bass to the doors, and highs to the dash, this is a better option. Was wonderful in my 04 Ram

What can I say? I like rear fill

Thanks for the reply
