8.4 Maps

So when the hell are the maps on this thing getting updated. They are woefully behind. While I didn't expect them to compete with my phone I did expect them to be comparable.

Good luck. I have been following- it seems painful. I am waiting for the community to pick up the torch like they did with the garmons and start providing free, regular updates. Gotta be a way.

Is there anyway to get map updates for the gps? I've had mine 18 months now and know they are out of date.

Other than to buy them, I don't know of a way yet. And the most recent ones available are painfully dated.

Ok, we got into that a bit on a post I recently started. My question, does anyone have a phone number for UConnect pertaining to the GPS update. For starters, I think everyone who has the oem GPS should start calling them. Second: Next, we need to start calling Ram "FCA" as that was the unit they installed.
As you stated, any other GPS that we purchase has free updates unless you elect to go for a more specific app like RV. I feel that RAM should stand behind us on that as well. Curious, does anyone know how GM and Ford do it with their GPS units? If they have free updates and such, think that would be a bargaining chip in our favor. The GPS has always been a sore spot for me as I tow and want to travel and an RV app would certainly help.

I use Waze or Google Maps streamed to my 8.4 screen so it's not so big an issue for me

I myself do not care if the gps is up to date, not sure if being retired and having a very casual attitude to travel and occasionally getting lost, to me it's not a big deal or issue.

If you google uconnect there is a phone number to call them. You can also contact them by pushing the assist button on your rear view mirror. I contacted them on Saturday and she told me a map update (2015) would cost 149.00 I asked her to note my complaint with Chrysler on this issue. The lady also agreed it was an outlandish price.

I guess it all depends on what you want .
I want one sooooo BAD ! I'll have one eventually . I like being able to retain an OEM radio and and get more out of it . I also like that it's plug n play. Not so sure if I'd ever use it for Netflix videos but I do like the mirroring and I defiantly want a cargo and front camera !

You had your chance☹. They are nice but this is why I started looking at other head units. Either way it goes it's big money to get what we want.
