8.4 radio in 2009-2012 ram

Like I mentioned in another forum. Your going to need to compare the 2009-2012 wiring and the 2013+ to get the correct wiring going to the radio and then get the correct connector. They are completely different between the two. Even if you accomplish this there is no guarantee that the canbus system in the 2009-2012 will communicate with the radio. Although the radio is "thin" the mounting points are different and it appears the bezel is at least the same shape it maybe slightly different. Even if the 2013+ snaps into place you will run into the same issue as the radio.

That's a lot of time and money for something that most likely won't work.

If you want a big screen head unit look at alpine. You'll have to make a complete custom bezel but at least you'll know it'll work

the radio may work, but yes the ac cotrols will not.

if you want a large screen i would look into the alpine 8 or 9" aftermarket screens

Well I work at a custom car audio shop so I'm sure I can make it happen. My speakers are powered by amps so all I need is for the radio to power on and send signal to my amp. If I get it to work I'll keep yall posted yes I've seen the alpine 9 inch I'd rather do a iPad install them that thing

The radio requires specific CAN signals put out by the 2013+ rams for the radio to turn on. It does not simply just turn on when you apply power to it.

Don't bother with it, wire a key on and use a tablet glassed into the dash, that shouldn't be to tough for a custom audio shop at all.
