8 speed swap

Do you already have the transmission you're using for the swap? On my 2nd donor transmission (from LKQ), the bracket and a cut cable came with the transmission.

The PN I found for the cable when I was researching a ways back was 68507315AA - you could try that one. Are you going to attempt to route it to the stock location? Russell suggested just mounting it somewhere under the hood and fabricating a bracket to hold the end, no need to route it inside the cab. I currently don't have anything installed and can crawl under the vehicle with a large pry bar and pop it into neutral if needed but always planned to go back and buy the 68507315AA cable and just mount it under the hood somewhere. As far as cables go I would think if you're not picky about the pull end configuration, you could try searching for the cable from a different model and mount it under the hood.

As for the bracket, I MAY have a spare if the transmission in the truck has the bracket installed already. I know my spare has a bracket but I may need it if the currently installed transmission doesn't have it.

I think the cable PN 68507315AA is for the 8HP45, proceed with caution.

The Mopar Parts Canada showed stock when I ordered yesterday, but just got the email that it was discontinued.

Might have to PayPal one of you guys to buy it in the States for me.

If you don't get anywhere, you could try a bracket and cable from another Stellantis 8HP70, something from like a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 & 8HP70. I found this bracket 68145666AC with this cable 68260775AA (upper) 68304003AB (lower) - 2 part cable, or something simpler from another 8HP70 configuration - the body of the transmission should be the same.

With a little adapting you could probably even make a generic cable work.Here's a pic of the Jag's cable.

I never installed the neutral bracket. Never felt the need, honestly. I actually used the location to install the transmission cooler thermostat.

I think you'll be plenty fine without it if your new transmission doesn't come with it.

I wrapped the cooler lines over the top of the transmission, going reward (as you see in the pic) and then on the other side brought them to the front, and used heat insulating fiberglass. I'll grab a pic this evening on the other side for you.

My truck made the round trip to LLoyd to pick up the 8 speed... lol...

The bezzle is acid etched primed, Just waiting on the USB plug . rather drill it out before paint.

So now im back to the waiting game. According to Mopar Parts Canada they wont see half my order for 2 weeks minium as lots of the parts are B/O

Looks like your transmission did not include the bracket for the neutral cable. My installed transmission does not have it either so I don't have one available but if I were you I would just use a screwdriver or prybar in the event you ever had to pop it in neutral, or source a bracket and cable from another 8HP70 family. I haven't had to force it into neutral yet and if I ever have to, I will just crawl under it and use a prybar. At least your truck is lifted instead of lowered.

Check out how the Jag lever is mounted,if nothing else i'd modify the lever so it's longer and flip it up like the jag lever,so there's less chance of something being flipped up under the truck,and knocking it into neautral
