I have a 1989 d150 that the fuel sending unit died on. There is no good replacement for the fuel sending unit. I have heard about the 92-93 tank and pump replacement, BUt I am looking for something new. Has any one swapped the tank for a new version, that didn't break the bank? Thanks in advance for the help...

What is dead exactly?

The pump is renewable, and the broken plastic can be glued or have metal tubing glued in.

Destroyed by yours truly. Totally unusable and I made it unrepairable before I knew such a thing could be done even though it was in really bad shape. Newby mistake.

Doh.

There are still used ones out there. One whole parts truck cost me about $50. Try www.car-part.com for a tank or sender?

The 92-93 ones I believe are going to have the higher pressure Magnum pump.

Picked up a used '90 tank & sender this week for $250. I know a new pump is only $20 or so.

Just so you know, very few plastic tanks are reproduced in the aftermarket. It may be possible to plumb the low pressure TBI pump into the 91.5+ style sending units. (Have done so with GM products, but not dodge.)

If you have to buy a tank with the high pressure pump in it,you can use an inline regulator to reduce the pressure
