I have a 2013 Ram 1500 with a 5.7, and since I’m rebuilding my engine and going the stroker way, I figured I’d also swap the transmission from 65rfe to 8hp.
The 2 choices for the 8hp in a Ram are the 8hp70 and 8hp95.
8hp70torque rating is not that far from the 65rfe, but guaranteed it offers much better shifting.
8hp95 as is offer more torque capacity and as a result more tuning and moding power.

My question is, has a 8hp95 swap ever been done on gen5 or gen4 Ram ?
Some would say I could buy an upgraded 8hp70but the cost vs a junkyard find 8hp95 is significant.

The 8hp70 was the first 8 speed behind the 5.7 in the Ram 1500, which I believe was in 2014 (my 2014 and 2016 1500's were both 8HP70 trucks) which gave way to the 8hp75 a couple / few years later.
The HD's run the 8hp75 in the 2500 and 3500 6.4 trucks since 2019.
I think the v6 trucks had the 845RFE, which is similar to the 8hp45.
I believe only the Ram TRX, and Jeep / Dodge SRT FI variants use the 8HP95's in the FCA stable.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
