in my 2012 ram 1500 it seem that every 130-150k miles i'm getting a mud tire grown noise from the rear (i don't have mud tires, im running Michelin LTX) last time i opened the rear end and found the gears chewed up, bearings sloppy and axle shafts worn down 1/8" where the bearings ride so i just replaced the whole axle, now 140k later the grown is back but much quieter this time. i'm considering rebuilding the axle in the garage but how do i know if i have a 9.25 or a 9.25 zf.
