I can't find any gas station in Amarillo, TX that has 93 octane. I want to be able to tune my truck with the 93 tune, but not if I can't fill it up with 93. Any options? should I buy a case of octane booster and use a bottle at each fill up?

That's weird Amarillo doesn't have it. If I ever go on a road trip in my truck I'm gonna lower the tune. It seems a lot of places don't carry 93.

Every pump here in dfw that I've been to has 93. Although when I went to Abilene the highest was 91.

running a under octane fuel in a tuned vehicle will cause detonation and can fry your plugs and rings over time.

i always go to the same station here and they only have 87 and 93. currently running 87 tune and im going to switch back and change my tune higher to regain some of this horrible mileage from winter gas.

idk how diablosport tuners are, but I know the guy who I got my SCT from (HemiFever), he programmed the tunes so that 91 could be run with the 93 tune since people fall into the situation your in.

Timing on the performance tune is to much to run lower oc then called for. Codes im willing to bet Sean took a few degrees of timing out for your tune on the SCT.

Not with a computer controlled vehicle. You have knock sensors that detect knock, or preignition ( detonation) and it will pull timing out. Now you do have wasted power, more timing pulled is like torque management. But as long as you have good knock sensors, it will pull timing if running 91 on a 93 tune. So no worries of detonation.

In a perfect world yes it will pull timing to save the motor. Have you seen the top ringland of the stock 5.7 pistons? There is no room for error and only takes once to crack the ringland. It is advised by every tuner to use the correct fuel for the correct tune.
