I have a 1998 2500 v8 5.9 5 speed 4x4. I love this truck but I bought it non running apparently needed an ECU. So I took the ECU out of my other truck and threw it in this one and it started right up but ran pretty badly because it was an auto ECU in a manual truck. So i ordered up a new ECU for it and put it in and it ran but had a lot of codes. I started fixing all the random stuff and codes. Then one day i went to start it and it never started just cranked. Found out it did not have spark. Replaced the coil still nothing. well i have spark now but i have done very thing i can think off. New plugs, Wires, Distributor, Coil, ECU, Coolant temp sensor. I used Hughes engines write up to time the engine and still nothing.

Please help :( i need this truck to move some rock soon.

When you determined that you didn't have any spark, what did you replace to get the ignition spark back? Was it the distributor with a new pick-up coil?

You have verified that you have ignition spark? Just to make sure you, did you verify that you have spark at the plugs?

Have you checked the fuel pressure? There is a test port on the fuel rail.

Did you use the Hughes Engines tech article to time the engine because you removed and replaced the distributor or did you have the timing cover off to replace the timing set? Just curious?

I would verify that the rotor in the distributor is pointing at the #1 post on the distributor cap. Put the engine on TDC of the compression stroke and pull the distributor cap off and see where the rotor is pointing. I think you may be 180° out. Just a suggestion.
