So over the past two months I have had my transmission custom built to hold the HP I want to put up. I removed and installed myself to make it cheaper. I got my supercharger, had to wait again for different bolts from manufacturer cause they sent wrong ones. Finally get it installed, decided to go with methanol/water rather than intercooler. ordered that....controller backordered....2.5 weeks later i get the parts. I get EVERYTHING installed. Then just have to wait a week for the my tuner to have time. Finally get it in to tune, he asks a lot about my TC because he can feel it grabbing really hard. Go ahead and get finished at the tuners getting everything just right on tuesday. The shifting is a little off so I decide to make an appt today (friday) to get it flashed. On my way to the dealership I am on the hwy and go to pass a truck, as I get next to him my truck RACKS out the rev limiter, I have no torque. I slow down (unwillingly) and pull to the side. She drives in 2nd, 1st, but will only do about 15 in Drive before she kicks into neutral. I call my trans builder, he non shelantly says "well ya I may have done something wrong or missed something" WTF?!?!!??!:flipthebird: So now 6 days prior to me driving this baby across the country I have to rip the trans out and hope to hell he rebuilds it CORRECTLY before I need to leave. Anyone else out there not catching a break!?!?!? LOL:banghead:

I was sent the wrong headers when I did my build and had to wait a week for the right ones. There was also a lot of trouble getting my tune dialed in. Modding sure can be fun, hopefully yours isn't too hard to fix.

Unfortunately modifying our trucks is a hit or miss affair. The bigger the mod, more often things go wrong. Then when you are finished, often reliability comes into question. You might consider trailering the truck behind a UHaul when going across country or something similar. I had issues with Red last Fall and finally decided I would keep modding the old girl and got a support vehicle and trailer. It's a lot more fun when you don't have to have it running to take you to work in the morning. As for transmissions, I decided that it 545RFE won't hold the power and abuse I give it and should have a 46RH with some billet pieces install shortly. Good luck...

I learned my lesson about getting my vehicles worked on shortly before long trips a couple years ago. Just had my Toyota serviced the day before I was to leave on a 2400 mile trip. I left at 8 o'clock at night, at 10 o'clock I tried to set the cruise control, it did not work! It was too dark to do anything about it and I drove through the night, 1200 miles straight. Opened up the hood the next day, the mechanic forgot to reconnect the cruise control cable wire!

Does that 46RH mount up the same? hold out better?

Another name for the 46RH is A518 which is a 727 with a lock up converter and a .67 OD and can be run without a TCM. It does bolt up to hemi but requires a spacer or a special flexplate to make it fit properly. Do your research and determine if it is for you or not.
