I picked up a 1994 dodge ram 1500 with the 318 engine. The other day I went to move it and it hadn't been ran in 6 months and it was shaking like a leaf on a tree. Then I shifted it into reverse and slowly back up and overshot the driveway a bit and went onto the grass so I put it in drive and it's now stuck. it won't move forward or nothing any help would be appreciated.

Check your fluid. You might be needing to change that fluid and filter to start with.

I checked it out and it was fine it just needed a good flush and new fluids. merc225 the tranny stopped working also, nice second gen dodge :) . dodge dude's second gen caught my eye too! and the older D200.

Well, watch it's functioning because these transmissions have a habit of starting to slip worse sometimes after a fluid change, BUT since it wasn't working to begin with, you'll get some more lift out of it. You tightened the bands too, right?

And thanks!

Well, it's one of those things where you have to do it when you have the pan down because the low/reverse band adjustment is in the transmission where the kick down band is on the outside. (or it's the other way around, I forget)

Well, thank you I will go back through it and tighten the bands. I got a buddy to help but he has a 1978 Aspen that needs work so we help each other.
