ABS Sensor replace

I am attempting to replace the ABS sensors on my 03 2500. I just pulled the drivers side sensor out of the hub and it doesn’t look like my replacement. I pulled my old sensor out and the part that goes into the hub is not a plastic piece with a o-ring like the new one. What came out is smaller in diameter and is a stud with wound copper wire on it. Did I manage to leave part of the old one in the hub? If so how do I get it out?

And the answer is yes! My old sensor came apart while removing it from the the hub. The folks at 1A auto confirmed my suspensions. Thank you 1A!!
