Hey, guys,
I'm new to the forum so I'll do the best I can to describe the problem that I'm having.

I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 Hemi 5.7 and I recently come across a strange problem with my air-conditioning. I'm able to turn my air-conditioning on in the truck. It's cold and seems to work fine until I turn the fan control dial over to number 2.

Once I move the fan control Dial over two number 2, the fan seems to shut off; there's no air moving. But if I move it back to one of the other positions, the air-conditioning kicks back on.

Right now, I'm just avoiding using the fan control dial position 2.

Has anyone ever heard of this type of problem?

Thanks in advance...

In most cases there is a (Fan Resistor also known as a Blower Motor Resistor) for your fan speed control. When you change speeds with the speed control it changes the amount of current going to the fan motor to adjust the speed. You most likely have a fan or Blower Motor Resistor that is malfunctioning. These are also sometimes referred to as resistor cards. My truck is a newer year and I am not as familiar with the 09 to 12 Rams but it is a common problem in most vehicles after several years of use. I would check it first. If it's not the blower motor resistor it could also be a bad switch.

Is it only on speed 2 and how many total speeds do you have?

It's only on speed 2. I have 5 selections; 0-4.

I would say almost definitely the blower motor resistor then. Same thing happened on my 99 Ram.
