Hey everyone! First post here, so yesterday while driving on the highway when I would get above 60 mph and let off the accelerator I could not accelerate again until I was under 60 mph. If I never let off the gas I could continue to accelerate but the second I let off it would need to go under 60 mph to accelerate again. Has anyone had this issue and if so what could be the cause? Thank you in advance!

Like you let off the gas pedal for a moment and then tried to accelerate again? Or you were going 65-70+ and then let off the gas? Just trying to gauge how much you had to slow down to get below 60. Did you have problems getting to 60 like you didn’t have much power?

Yes I let off, for example going 70 mph, let off the gas to go around a corner, pressed on the gas when I was still going above 60 mph and there was no rpms or anything. I could hold the pedal down and as soon as I went below 60 mph it would kick back in and I'd start accelerating again. There is no issue while taking off or getting to 60 mph.

I can press brake pedal and gas pedal at same time and I get a message 'throttle control module service required" as Im driving down the road.

Sounds like it would throw a fault code with the lag you're speaking of.

A couple of easy things that I would do as a preliminary check would be the trans fluid level and condition and when was the last time you cleaned your throttle body? Nothing in particular about your issue really points to 1 particular thing in my mind right now. Has this happened often? Also, depending on which transmission you have (6 or 8 speed) you may have been on a shifting point as I’ve seen where that would cause a hesitation in getting power back to the truck as the trans doesn’t know which gear to be in at that moment.

So just an update for everyone, it was giving me code P1524. I've changed the cam shaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, oil pressure sensor, changed the oil and filter and still getting my check engine light. I don't have any issues when driving down the road anymore now my issue is oil pressure dropping to around 24 psi when at an idle. During driving it is between 40-50 psi. Mechanic said really the only options left are oil pump replacement and then possibly a tear down to see what's going on with the engine. I'm going to try the oil pump and if that doesn't work then I will probably trade it in for a new vehicle. Also the current mileage on the truck is 107,000.
