Anyone have info on this? I've been searching but haven't found what I'm looking for. I see ebay has whole units for $100 shipped. My wife isn't into replacing a good radio for $100 though. I'd love to add a port at the back of the cubby under the radio.

Any light you guys can shed on this is much appreciated. I'm getting tired of the BS country stations around me!

PAK has several offerings that will do this. Just gotta pick the correct one that matches your trucks wireing harness and the radio. This should be what you are looking for:
Pac-Audio.com Product Details | iPod Integration for your car and More by Pac-Audio - Connecting you to the future

OOPS wrong link. I will leave that one and add this one: http://www.pac-audio.com/productSea...=7&Model=Ram&ModelId=1394&Year=2005&YearId=16

The second link takes you to where you can look over what they offer.

So it looks like this is the way? for $99 I can have a new (reman) radio with the port built into the face plate. I'd rather hide it in the cubby so I don't have wires hanging around. I just feel there should be a simpler solution...

Seems kind of cheap (not money cheap) to me. Anyone have any experience with it?

Keep looking on Ebay I am sure you can find an aftermarket unit with an aux port.

Aftermarket radios aren't my cup of tea. I like factory components as much as I can use them. I'm wondering if there is a cheaper way to add an AUX port?

The PaK unit is the way to go. It should fill the bill nicely and work like a charm.
Now if there is a local salvage yard with your year truck you may be able to find a radio with the aux input there, but be warned that salvage yards are very particular about giving money back. If you go the salvage yard route be sure to get any warrantee information or their money back policy in writing.
Realize this, Dodge changed connectors around 2006 to 2008 so you may not be able to use a radio newer than possibly 2006. Take a picture of the connector at the back of the current radio and then take that with you when you hunt for a new radio.

I work in the car biz so I have numerous salvage yard contacts. The info I got from my buddy at Dodge was the Mitsubishi made radios had an AUX input on the face plate. The Huntsville radios did not. I had my salvage yards check 13 different stock units and every one of them did not have it. I'm pretty sure I will not find one.

So I've resorted to adding an AUX port where ever I can. I've seem some threads on different forums where someone buys components from Radio Shack and constructs it and wires it in. I feel confident enough to do this but I was also wondering if anyone here had done anything like this?

It will be much easier to use the PaK unit that I had linked. No specific skills needed plus it is plug and play. Just make sure that you get the proper one for your truck. You may want to visit your local audio shop if you do not feel confident about doing the work yourself.

rbk radio upgrade

I got an item from Replacement radios ( off of ebay ) made by Isimple. It plugs into the cd changer port in the back of the stereo. It allows you to use any ipod, ipad or iphone that doesnt have the new lightening connector. You can get an adapter for the standard 30 pin connector if yours does. The instructions looked a bit complicated but installation took less than 30 minutes. The unit costs about 80 bucks to my door with 2 day shipping. It sounds awesome and charges my ipod when im driving. This set up allows control of the ipod through the face of the radio. My factory radio sounds great and I too didnt see the upside of replacing it and possibly loosing sound quality.
