I washed my AEM Dryflow air filter for the first time yesterday and 36 hours later it's still not dry, despite having been shaken, whacked, blown out with compressed air, sat in the sun, etc. Anyone else have one of these and wash it and if so, how long did it take to dry out?

I have used oil infused air filters. Maybe the small amount of moisture that would enter if you use it damp would not bother the engine. Would it be any more moisture than on a very humid day? It would eventually dry. Putting this out for others to comment, I don't know if there is any significant adverse issue doing this.

I used an AEM dryflow a few years ago. First time I washed it I followed the instructions and used the AEM cleaner. 4 days later it was still wet so it never went in my airbox again. And we're not talking damp either.

Glad I'm not the only one that had this problem with the Dryflow filter.

Nope, that was part of the original attempts. 2 hours actually, full sunlight, 87° F.

Set it out longer then. Not sure what’s difficult about drying?

I've washed K&Ns several times, and my trick is I don't set it out to dry before doing my "spin cycle" just like the washer and whip that **** to get some centrifugal force to get most of the water whipped out.

Otherwise its like waiting for a swimming pool to dry in the sun if its soaked.

If desperate in a rush, get a blower on low speed and blow from the inside out. Use your discretion to ensure you aren't blasting it with too high a PSI.

Thank you to everyone who replied, even those who skipped over what I wrote and suggested things I'd already tried/done. :)

As of this afternoon it was finally dry, took almost 4 full days. I'm just glad I had a spare paper filter around to put in the truck while waiting for it.

I did manage to get ahold of AEM and checked with them to see if they had any suggestions. They claimed they'd never heard of such a thing. They were polite, but not particularly helpful.

I've shaken my k&n and used blow dryer on it but a little water wont hurt anything. Not like its flooded dripping wet and pouring water in the motor. But a little water can help decarbonize a motor if you know how
