Aftermarket black Quads coming in today, want to add more sealant

So... My depo black quads are being delivered today. Rather than risk installing them just to have them fog up I want to add some additional sealant. I also want to be able to purchase it today from somewhere like Advanced or Autozone. What would be best to add some additional protection that I could have in my hands today? Also, I'll probably end up retro'ng them eventually so whatever I add needs to be able to come off no problem. Thanks for any help!

Just some basic silicone does the trick, that's what I used to seal mine on the back side

Plain black silicone works great.

You can tape the edge of the light so when you 'squish' the silicone down with your finger, you don't get it on the lense, just in the crack you seek to fill.

If it were me I would use outdoor, clear silicone but these are your lights. Color doesn't matter, high-temp is overkill but outdoor is important to make sure it stays elastic and flexible because its exposed to the elements.

GE Silicone II is all that I would EVER use.

Black or clear, your choice. Clear is easier to work with as you can get that in a smaller tube, rather than the large caulking gun sized tubes.

High heat is NOT needed.

Got it done. It took longer applying the silicone than it did changing the housings. Had a nice silicone mess going on but we won't discuss that lol. I expected it to be much worse based off the complaining I've seen on here about removing the housings. Removing/installing new housings is no big deal at all on these trucks.

Here's some pics. Haven't cleaned it up in weeks (too cold!) but that'll happen tomorrow. Also, a while back I tossed on some '13 hemi badges. Flares are oem 2500's. Rcx level kit as well. Time for some real mods now!

Eh, I wouldn't regret it at all. I have them pretty much just because. I'll switch to something else once I add more lift.

BTW those of us who complain about pulling heads apart are using OEM pieces. Aftermarket ones come apart like butter.

Man the more I look at them you are definitely right. They'd look WAY better if the turn signal area was black too. Looks like I'll be pulling these apart sooner than I thought.. Damn it

I wasn't talking about actually separating the housings. I was just talking about removing the housings from the vehicle. I see lots of people on here complaining about it. In reality it's just a couple bolts/clips to remove the grill, couple bolts for headlights, push that white lever thingie up and they pop right out. In just saying I expected it to take longer based on what I've read on here lol. No big deal

Ah- I hear ya. I swapped out my stockers for my retro'd pair including swapping bulbs & the internal wiring harness in about 15 minutes yesterday.
