Aftermarket Headlights

I got a 2018 1500 a couple months ago, and I absolutely love the truck. However, the OEM (standard model - NOT factory projectors) headlights are almost dangerously dim. If anyone has any suggestions for headlights, it would be really helpful. I'm looking for black/smoked headlights that are much brighter than the OEM, and possibly black taillights to match. I also would like to keep them somewhat affordable and easy to install yourself. I've been searching all over, but the reviews on everything are really inconsistent/negative.

Just updating the bulbs in the quad factory halogen headlights doesn't seem to improve the light output much.

My suggestion is to find a pair of used OEM projector headlights and add a HID kit to them. You'll need the kit and an adapter harness.

I have OEM projectors so I got the kit directly from RetroShop.

As far as the tailights you can do the same thing by using the OEM LED tails or search a bit online for some aftermarket ones.

There are a lot of threads here on lighting upgrades that include various sources, types of upgrades done, pics of the final products, etc... that you'll find helpful.

If you have the oem quad lights, you can switch your low beam H11 bulb to an H9 bulb with a minor modification to the H9.

H11 bulbs are 1200 lumens, H9 bulbs are 2100 lumens- huge difference. This is a pretty common mod for all sorts of vehicles with oem H11s

The only problem with them is that they burn so hot that the life of the bulb, printed on the back of the package, is only good for about two years of standard use. I have DRL's that I want to stay on so that severely cuts the life expectancy. I decided to change mine to the Headlight Revolution V.4 replacements designed specifically for the Halogen Quad Housings. They are phenomenal and the output is exactly that of the halogen bulb just pure white and much brighter. I had 4 friends with different vehicles drive toward and in front of me and the bulbs did not blind them at all. 3600 lumens each really makes a difference. I'll never go back to halogen again. I plan to change out my high beam bulbs and fogs with the same type from Headlight Revolution.
