so I installed this Amazon.com : Kenwood KDC-X497 eXcelon Single DIN In-Dash Car Stereo Receiver with HD Radio : Vehicle Cd Player Receivers : Car Electronics
using this Amazon.com: Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV Non-Amplified Non-OnStar Harness to Retain Accessory Power: Car Electronics
it will hold the stations and settings just the clock will not stay correct. any ideas? the harness is just a color match from one to the other. also seems to have a little less bass then with the stock radio and a PAC loc for some reason. I thought the bass would increase. the mids and highs damn sure did

double check that when you the truck is off the yellow (constant 12+) is holding at 12v when the truck is off.

otherwise it may be something wrong with the radio

If your presets are sticking, then its something wrong with the radio. The yellow wire in the harness connects to a constant 12v+ power source. This wire provides power at all time to the radio to allow the radio to hold your settings (and clock) when the truck is off. Considering the radio presets are still there, its not a wiring issue which leaves your radio as the culprit.
