I think this is the reason the article suggests replacing a battery with like type and maybe why some folks report different longevity results with AGMs.Good read ,my question was when I went from lead acid to AGM in my truck , was the charging system compatible with AGM . I know when I went to AGM with my electric trolling motor I had to buy a charger that had the AGM charging mode . Likewise when I went to lithium with my electric trolling motor had to again but another charger that had the Lithium charge mode . I am a bit charger poor now .But I do have everything covered .
Anyway make to the truck ,I don't really remember now about the AGM compatibility , but I do remember checking into it ,and it was okay to use . Must be , it's been a couple years now .
AGMs have a lower internal resistance which makes them quicker to charge but highly sensitive to overcharging. My current 2019 Ram indicates a voltage of 14.7 volts all the time in this kind of weather. I'm pretty sure that is too much for an AGM.

Toyota were nice enough to have a secondary bolt hole so it dropped right in with the factory bracket.
