Hello everyone, I have a 2010 Ram 1500 with the 4.7 engine. I am having problems with the Air condition; the compressor does not stay engage long enough to cool the cabin, the clutch engaged for like 3 to 5 seconds and dis-engage right after that. It cycles on an off every 15 seconds. We checked freon and the system is charged. Any ideas?

Did you hook up gauges to the pressure system to check the charge? Static pressure matters, but not for a quick cycle. High and low pressure readings are important (the low number and high number during a compressor cycle). If the pressure drops too low, or raises too high, it will cycle the compressor to avoid damage to the system. And does so via the high or low pressure switches. If the numbers are all adequate (I'm not even sure what they should be on a 2010 with a 4.7), you may have a faulty switch. Good luck, hope this helps...
