Long Time Stalker first time poster,
I have a 2003 2500 QC 5.7. 157k Miles
Today as I pulled into the parking lot at my shop, and sat talking on the phone, my truck started making a chattering sound and blew out a white puff of Freon smelling smoke.
Inside the A/C went warm with the smell of Freon, and I shut the truck off. After re-starting it, no problem, A/C worked fine, drove to a jobsite to check on guys, stopped at a Stop light, Chatter back, Freon smell, Warm air.
If I only run the A/C switch on while driving, A/C works fine albeit a little warmer than it used to be. Before this started, it would be Ice cold sitting at idle in a parking lot in 110 degree weather.
Caught it chattering and shut it off at home, Condenser fan is always on in this truck for some reason.
Don't know if it is a bad valve, or the compressor going out, or what. Wondering if anyone has had this issue before.
