Annnnd... I'm an idiot. For the 18 months I've owned this truck these were installed:
TLC Air Bag Spring Suspension 2009-2013 RAM 1500 w/Compressor TLC Air Bag Spring Suspension 2009-2013 RAM 1500 w/Compressor [TLC DCS-1500 + ACV Air Bags] - $629.99 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce
Knowing F-all about them because the previous owner was the one who installed it, and not yet running into a scenario where I felt I needed them, I left them deflated. I always had an annoying clunk over bumps I stupidly attributed to my OEM drop in bed liner flopping around. But today I decided to double check with my mechanic.
He immediately spotted the problem and told me to always keep them at 5-10 psi for regular daily driving and what I was hearing was the bumper stops because there was no air in them. So I did and took it for a spin.
Holy **** what a noticeable ride and handling improvement! I just wish I could've enjoyed it since day one. /sigh. Well at least on the bright side I won't have to bother with rear spacers when I level the front. I think the compressor is shot though, nothing happens when I press the switch after I manually inflated them through the nib on the cab gauge.
