My truck is about 2" too tall to fit into my garage (damn you, shark fin antenna!). Just to be sure, say it needs 3" of clearance.

Is it possible to gain that much by airing down the tires to something like 10 psi, pulling the truck in and then airing up the tires again?

I know people have aired down for more clearance but I dont know how much clearance to expect. Im running the stock 20" crapyears on my 2017.

Thanks.

You could gain 3" of clearance with airing down to 5psi maybe.. and I bet you don't gain 3 inches even then.

Maybe see about looking online what the antenna is made up of and maybe cutting that instead.

Cant cut the antenna, then it wont work anymore :) Ive taken the antenna off before but its a large PITA to get to (have to drop headliner)

So far I need my truck in the garage only for detailing purposes, so I could borrow someone elses garage (with tall enough door), but in the future Id be in the same situation.

Im considering enlarging the door opening in my garage since I have enough clearance above the existing, but it will require work and 2 new garage doors (I have side by side 2 car garage instead of one big bay door)

Is this so you can park in the garage daily, or just to pull it in for service?

Seems like too much trouble for daily/nightly parking.
If it’s just for service, I’d leave the tires deflated while it’s in the garage. Would suck to forget to deflate them again, and try to back out.

I don’t know if it’s possible, but you may be able to swap the shark fin for one of the early/low profile antennas.

My 12 has the low profile antenna.

Not the best pic, but you can kind of see the antenna towards the right side of the roof.

Yeah it would be just for service.

Ive looked at possibly swapping the antenna but then I would lose the possibility of UConnect (not a huge deal except for the fact I could pay for 3G access point if I take the truck on vaca)

Put a small notch in the friggin' house. Caulk & paint before you move.

Note:
Don't attempt ingress/egress when drinking. Ask me how I know.
