I see people have used this to go from the 26 gallon tank to the 32, would it work to input a 50 gallon if you change the liters correctly

I’m very interested in this as well as I want to put a 56gal titan tank in eventually. Since it isn’t a factory option like the 32 is; apparently it won’t work/do anything.

Maybe someone will figure it out or the developer will make a change to change the total fuel available....

I have tried to keep up with this thread....

I have a 2018 2500 and I have already used Alfa to reset the TPMS and tire size. I am going to put LED highs and lows and maybe some license plate LEDs.
I DO NOT need any Canbus adapters, correct?
I will set the headlights to HID or LED?
I will set any other bulbs I change to LED and disable the rear light DTC, correct?
Thanks for your patience
Bryan

When I did mine, I did not use CANbus corrector modules but I did use CANbus compatible bulbs. So far so good.

Figured the folks here may be up to speed on this question:

Does GM have something like alphaobd? VW has VCDS...so I’d think something exists for GM products I could use for my duramax....maybe?

Not looking promising! I’d assume there has to be something out there for my duramax!

Take the truck for a quick drive, then try to remote start it

Take it for a short drive. Turn engine on/off a couple of times. I had the same issue. Triple checked everything. Went for a drive then it worked

Thank you both for your help, a drive is apparently all that it needed. I went out for dinner, then tried the remote start as I was walking out and it worked.

I have had NO luck finding anything like that
the forums I have seen all point to some one "bench" modding components to "regreen" or change options but no way to "recode" them in place

the autoenginuity software CLAIMS to but "A" I never tried it and B no forum I have run into has used it on a GM

Bummer! I’m surprised there is no GM equivalent!

A couple questions.

First, is any one aware of a way to have the fog lights and the park lights on for the DRLs? I just installed some aftermarket head light assemblies and the park lights aren't as bright as I'd like them. Eventually I am going rewire them as switch backs and to be brighter but until then I would like to see if both can be used.

Second, I took my truck in for the U53 recall for the passive restraint system on the side curtain airbags not deploying the event of a roll over. While I had it in, the customer rep I talked to told me they could recalibrate the fuel tank without doing the auto park feature for the 8 speed rotatory shifter (U07 recall). After having it back there for a while, the rep said they could not do that because it would "short out" the BCM, so they could only do both or neither. I told them to skip it. While poking around the google drive procedures for doing various changes with the AlfaOBD, I saw the fuel tank calibration directions. Now, how full of it was the rep when he told me it would short the BCM? Would these directions do the same? I have the 32 gallon tank but would like to make the calibration be correct for miles and fuel remaining on my truck.

Thanks in advance

From my limited experience, reps are VERY full of it. Im pretty sure at least a few peolpe in this thread have used the fuel tank cal procedure and I have not heard of any adverse affects, but I would search the thread just to be sure.

The rep probably found out what he told you was wrong and came up with an excuse that 90% of owners would take as truth, instead of just mea culpa.

Did you have the U07 recall (auto park) or the U53 (passive restraint) done? I'm thinking I am in the clear to perform since I didn't get the auto park done, but did have the passive restraint done. I just don't want to have a brick for a truck. Thoughts? I'm new at messing with BCM settings so I am very leery. Thanks.

I know I had the passive restraint done. Even after that nothing had changed.

I think you need to know someone with a computer from a dealer.

I work at the Silverado/Sierra assembly plant and my buddy is an electrical coordinator here, so he has a laptop that has all the stuff on it that we use to program the trucks here at the factory.

I had him make some changes similar to what the AlfaOBD does on the rams, on my 2016 Silverado. I do not know of any apps or devices other than going to the dealer, or a hookup like I have to make these changes on a Silverado. If there was an option he would have let me know that I could do it myself.

Why does the empty percentage in the procedure say to only change the empty to 5% and not adjust LFW, but the cluster config say 2% for empty and 8% for LFW?

I don't think I updated the instructions since I messed with my settings . I'll have to see where mine is at. I didn't change the LFW on mine. Mine comes on just below 1/8th of a tank

You can adjust these to fine tune it to work with your truck.

So basically FCA could have done this long ago but let us think that we have the smaller tank by entering the cluster settings as 91, 16 and 23% for full, empty, and LFW respectively? That’s crap if they did.
