On another topic for those of us who have activated the VTA in our trucks if you unlock it with the key instead of the fob the alarm is still armed. Not really a big deal but worth noting so you dont accidentally set it off like I did. I doubt the trucks equipped with the VTA from the factory act the same way. Might be a setting we are missing.

On another topic for those of us who have activated the VTA in our trucks if you unlock it with the key instead of the fob the alarm is still armed. Not really a big deal but worth noting so you dont accidentally set it off like I did. I doubt the trucks equipped with the VTA from the factory act the same way. Might be a setting we are missing.

Definitely enable small groups if not individually when doing this. Allow the truck to sit, key out, doors locked and away from the vehicle for at minimum 5 minutes. Some settings will also take much longer to take than others and different year trucks (older) also take more time for some settings.

What you have listed is for the exterior mirrors. The smart beam mirror and puddle lamps are two separate items. Puddle lamp present is located about midway down the list if I remember correctly. It is very easy to skip over.

The smart beam mirror is part of the Auto High Beam.

Interior EC Mirror Present

Select“yes”

Smart Beam Present (AHBM)

Select “yes"

Auto High Beam Module Location

Select “ECC_AHBM"

Auto High Beam CSM

Select “yes”


All the above of course is dependent on the correct hardware/wiring being installed.

So I'm back again.

I wanted to change the back splash of my EVIC to say "Limited" when the truck is started. Followed the procedure and nothing changed. Did it a few times and double checked it took and it it did.

I am starting to wonder if this is something that will only work on the 2016+ trucks?

I don't think it will work on the 2013 and 2014 trucks. I believe it stared to be an option on the trucks in 2015 where when you started it it would show Bighorn Limited or whatever trim level your truck was. My truck is a 2014 and I tried to enable it just for the heck of it and nothing changed in my truck either. That being said I'm not sure if it's because my truck doesn't actually change the image depending on what trim level is programmed into it or since my premium speedometer is out of a 2013/2014 truck and is just not capable of showing it.

I'm pretty sure I did both but I'm going to go try again just to make sure. The thing that gets me is my speedometer is out of a 2013 and my truck is a 2014. We have learned that the 2013 speedometers have some limitations as far as a graphics. We have found that the 2013 speedometers for some reason don't show front park assist and I'm assuming it's because it was not an option in 2013. We put a 2013 premium speedometer in STecoD's mom's 2014 and it no longer shows the front park assist on the EVIC. I'm actually going to start keeping my eye out for a 2014 or 15 speedometer a stick that in my truck.

@Ricks Ram Thanks! Yeah, I remember reading to stay away from 13' clusters when I was looking for one. They also had TPMS issues I believe on newer models.

I installed it in my truck. The 2013 speedometers TPMS will work in the 2014 truck but the 2014 speedometer TPMS will not work in the 2013 truck. I switched mine out almost as soon as I bought my truck so trying to find a 2014 premium cluster was almost impossible and I ended up with a 13. I have had no issues with it whatsoever but I notice it does have some differences compared to the newer ones as far as the way messages like key in ignition ect are displayed plus now we know they wont show front park assist. At the time we didn't realize there was any difference in their graphics or anything between the different years because we hadn't had enough time or examples to look at.

For those who have added memory mirrors (or at least know what they look like), is there any way to tell if a set of mirrors have memory function just by looking at the mirror and/or wiring?

Ive found a set with chrome caps on them, but the exact vehicle they came from isnt known. Hoping the wiring might be a good indication?
