Unlocked door with key, opened the door, alarm went off, put key back in fob and disabled alarm with fob in ignition when turned to the run position.

The neighbors hate me now if they didn't before. Lol

Has anyone tried to program spare keys for their truck with AlphaOBD. The website says electronic key and RF remote control programming. just wondering if anyone has made the leap of faith to try and program their own keys?

Both my previous FCA vehicles (a Jeep Liberty & a Dodge Dakota), both of which came with the VTA active from the factory, behaved that way. Unlocking with the key did not turn off the VTA.

I think it's possible but you would need to get your pin# from the dealer to even try.

The change of the EVIC may be limited to the year model. To verify though, did you change both special packages sections at the top?

My 2014 actually has 4 "Special Packages" settings. I haven't looked 'live' to see what options are available yet, I just noticed the extra two in my BCM file. Anyone know what the other two do?

Vehicle Config 1:
Special Packages: No
Vehicle Config 2:
Special Packages: No
Special Packages: Not defined
Special Packages: Not defined

Hey all, there are so many pages I seem to be getting lost. Also still figuring out this app so please bare with me.

What is this 4 digit pin called so I can request from the dealer?
And has anyone activated the vented seats? I have heated fronts and added Laramie seats a while back and I’ve only managed to get the soft controls to show up on the screen.

-Thanks!

Thanks!

Would be great to have for the Texas summer that’s finally over. Any idea where I can find the procedure in this thread maybe?

I had purchased a spare FOBIK months and months ago. Tried to program it this weekend and didn't work. Tried with both AlphaOBD and my Autel. Both devices gave a message of "The Programmed FOBIK is not inside the vehicle or the FOBIK in the vehicle is not programmed to the RF-HUB". Gave up when both tools wouldn't do it.

Service manual says to leave the FOBIK on top of the console while attempting to program, is that where you had it?

It's extremely simple. Do you already have the alpha tool and OBD connector?

Yes. You have to press the unlock button on the FOBIK to initiate communication.

I havent seen the RF Hub functions in AlfaOBD....service manual mentions having to possibly run some routines after programming all the FOBIKs. Do you happen to know all the choices in the RF Hub section of the app?

I do, I’ve already activated the soft keys for the vented seats but when I pressed the button to turn them on they illuminate for a few seconds but never power up.

There are two settings in the menu for the vented seats. Scroll down further from where you set the other ones and you should see it enable that one too and you should be set.

Did you activate them in both places? There are two different selections to enable them. If you just activate them in ecu3 this is the exact problem that happens. They have to be enabled in ecu5 also. I really wish the dev would give us the option to see what ecu each option resides in. When I plugged the Alfa into my Jeep it did just this. Each option was prefixed with the ecu/vehicle config number.

Not without being hooked up. The key/fobik program function leads you through the steps of what to do. I programmed a key for a person a couple weeks ago with my Autel and it worked fine. FOBIK...not so much.

I wanted to enable the longhorn special package on my new long horn cluster. I first set both special packages to longhorn - black/cattle tan since this is the interior I’m upgrading to. No go, the logo never changed. Changed it to just longhorn both places and bingo I now get the longhorn logo on the EVIC. The one thing I did notice was that both times I made the change, it reset the theme on my 8.4 UAQ back to the generic Uconnect theme. My suspicion is one of the special package options is instructing the radio on what themes to present on the radio and the other changes the logo on the cluster.
