Most dealers in my experience are just plain lazy. They also care very little for your satisfaction after the sale is completed. I would bet money on it they tried as little as they had to and gave up.

I may be a little jaded by my personal experiences. Lol

You never know what tools they actually have available to them. I do know the module is like $70 from an online retailer so if they haven’t tried to replace that they are wasting his time.

I sometimes wonder if they are missing the only "free" tool available: their brain.

How my cynical side imagines every service happens:

Customer has complaint.
Service dept gives "earliest available" appointment which happens to be 10 days later.
Customer arrives with vehicle. Lucky enough, gets to re-create the issue with a service tech. Leaves vehicle with dealer.
Service dept gets to it, eventually. Connects to WiTech...."no CELs found"
Vehicle parked back in lot.
5 hours later customer is called "could not re-create".

My 2016 6.7 SLT came with cloth seats, no heat.
I put in a set of Limited heated/cooled seats as my truck came with fully populated harness.
When I set the heated seat material type to "Perforated Leather" ALL 4 heated seats and the heated wheel would turn on and kick off early. If I turned on the heated wheel it would heat slowly and kick off after a long time, if i turned on one seat it would barely heat and kick off after a while, If I turned on 2 seats or more it would kick off within seconds.
Once I changed the Heated Seat Material Type to "Default" ALL 4 work perfectly.
If you have access to an A E Tool or ALFAobd, check the "Heated Seat Material Type" setting and try setting it to "Default" to see if that cures the issue.

It's easy to Identify the cause of an issue when only changing ONE setting at a time...

Thanks for the information. If you don’t mind, I’ll be adding that to the info folder I’ll be creating.

Can also add that if you use "Program Tire Size" setting in Body Computer, you will end up
with

Service ABS, Throttle and Trailer Brake System error....

Did you reset the RF Hub? I know that was one of the things you had to do wit the Autel device (or what ever it is called) I know a couple others have dabbled with changing the tire size but don't recall them getting errors, it just did stick (they did not rest the RF hub)

That's strange. I havent heard of anyone having issues with the seat material settings causing the seats to shut off. I have Laramie seats in my 14 and I had them on default for a long time because the AE tool does not show the seat material type in the 2014 BCM for whatever reason. I was able to change them to perforated leather about a year ago and they still work fine.

My 2015 Laramie was set to perforated leather from the factory. I have heated and vented seats.

I guess there could also be a possibility of a missed setting but I am unfamiliar with heated/vented seats so I cannot speak first hand. Could compare the BCM config side by side to rule that out easy enough I would think but there is also the difference in years. Still going to add to the info/issues folder in case anyone else has an identical problem. Couldn't hurt.

I'll be going back through the thread and pulling more. If anyone sees anything I missed that was not resolved let me know.

Just came back from friends whom I borrowed my ALFAobd and laptop
So he changed the tire size using "Program Tire Size" setting in Body Computer only (not sure why as this was NOT on the list of safe changes that I gave him)
I looked at his door tag for tire size (LT275/70R18E) factory size and asked what he changed to (LT265/70R18 A/T or LT285/60R20E A/T)
He changed the tire size to be closer to his new tire (275/65R20E)

I then went back to "Program Tire Size" and the closest match that I could find to his factory programmed tire size was (BS/FS LT275/70R18E A/S).
I figured that i would give it a shot to see what happens.
The ABS error and Trailer Brake error are now gone but the accelerator pedal error remains.

My conclusion would be that the BCM and RFH tire size values must match...
The Options in the ALFAobd for tire size do not match exactly to "LT275/70R18E" which must be the reason for the error.
Since I am NOT able to enter my own raw values "LT275/70R18E" into the option list for tire size, I am unable to help him out unless I try with the A E tool, but that is untested waters also.

As an OPTION, if I can find someone local with a tool capable of updating the tire size in RFH, it may fix the error...

I know some codes are persistent and will not go away until a reset.

I will try and clear codes again tomorrow morning, 2 or 3 times persistently...
Worth a shot. When I was making changes with my pedal commander I got the "service throttle sensor" error. Would not go away until I reset it.

In reviewing the 2017 Cummins 2500 settings in shared folder against my settings, I observe the following differences:

Programmed ECUs: Cabin Network:

CSWM Comfort Seat Wheel Module: Set (my setting = not set)

MSM Memory Seat Module: Set (my setting = not set)

I have "Auto-On Driver Comfort CSM: Feature 2 - 3 option" set and the heated wheel and heated drivers seat came on automatically last winter and the vented drivers seat has been automatically coming on this summer.
I had to enable memory mirrors before the memory seat buttons 1 and 2 worked.
So I should be safe to set the 2 modules, unless anyone else thinks different?

Looks like you might have found the solution to your problem. It’s late but I’m sure someone will post up when they see this.

Need to get a couple more settings in the folder for comparison.

I thought I'd do a quick write up on my experience turning on the Daytime Running Lights with the Alpha OBD.

As we know from the fine work already done by other members here, there are 5 relevant settings, seen below. Of the 5, #1 and #3 were already set as they needed to be on my truck from the factory.

Factory Config:
  1. DRL Configuration: Optional DRL
  2. DRL Lamp Location: None
  3. DRL Dropout Enable: Set
  4. DRL customer setting enable/disable: Not set
  5. Daytime running lights customer settings menu: Not set

During my initial run I set the Lamp Location to Turn Signals and the "DRL customer setting enable/disable" to Yes. I did not set the "Daytime running lights customer settings menu" because I could not find it in the list. (The android version really needs some sort of dividers in the list to give reference points!)

The DRLs worked at this point. I did have a few moments where I thought they were not working until I figured out that they only go on when the truck is in Drive, not just when it's running.

Several hours later I located and turned on the "Daytime running lights customer settings menu" however despite multiple run/sleep cycles since, this option does not seem to have done anything on my truck. I can't find any DRL config options on the radio or the EVIC. I have the 7" EVIC, but only the 5" Radio, so I'm not certain if that's why I'm not seeing them. If anyone has info on that, or if I'm misinterpreting what that setting is supposed to do, please let me know!

I know of two other members that have their DRLs working with the soft key CSM but they have the RA4/UAQ. I am pretty sure though that the RA2 has the soft key (remember seeing someone post a pic here?). The location should be in settings/lights on the RA2. Of course, numbers 4 and 5 would need to be set for it to appear. There will be no settings for the DRLs on the EVIC.

Still curious as to how they are working without the location being set? Maybe they default to ambers.

Did you get the Auto-On Driver Comfort CSM on your screen? It allows you to turn On / Off the function. Pic below:

Also as far as the heated seat material type being set to "Perforated Leather", this is the setting I currently have. I originally had cloth seats with no heat or ventilation. After installing Laramie seats I enable the seats with an AE back then. Like Ricks Ram states in his post, no problems like you encountered with this setting.
