Hello all,
A lot of great information on this huge thread but there are a few questions I have.

1. I have stock projectors and turned on the DRLs. The DRLs are working just fine but the option to turn them off on the radio is not there. Not a huge deal, I'd still rather have the DRLs working but having the option to turn them off real quick would be a nice bonus. I have seen on this thread that some other people have had this same issue and that it can just take a few cycles of running for it to turn on. Is this true? I have gone to the post on this thread with all the functions that need to be changed and double checked mine. They are all changed correctly.

2. Does anybody know if you can make the radio go to the navigation map by default rather than have to go to nav and then hit map?

3. Is there a way to display the gear select all the time or no? I did find a setting under ECM Config 4 - Gear Display and tried it but it did not do anything. Is there maybe another setting I have to change to get this to work?

TIA!

Some trucks the CSM setting for drl's can take 24-48 hour's to show for some reason. Disconnecting the battery may help it show up faster.

I doubt there is a way to set nav as the default screen without using a 3rd party add on device.

I don't think that gear display works on our trucks. I've tried it and haven't seen anywhere it could be displayed

thanks for the reply! I tried the gear select as well and it didn't do anything for me either!

For the DRL, "ECUConfig 3-DRL customer setting enable/disable"
that should give you the check box in the settings menu under lights.

2 and 3, no idea

also DRL type set to optional NOT EC OR Canada
and check country code for USA and NOT Canada as I believe those disable the DRL disable option on settings menu

Sorry I didn't make my post clearer @Kenepo17ram . What is the app version of Alfaobd you used to make your changes to your 7" cluster. Some others here have reported some issues with either hours or mileage when trying to make their changes. I believe the most recent update is 2.1.7.6 released 10/7/19. Is that the update version of Alfaobd you used with no issues or something different?

I did mine yesterday too. Took 3 hours to get the odometer to change. I'm using the windows version of Alfa OBD. I increased my Interface Timeout, Request Interbyte and Iterrequest time. Settings that finally worked: Int Timeout: 300 ms / Request Interbyte 10 ms / Interrequest time 200 ms. I was able to change my idle hours and total engine life but that took several tries as well to get it to finally take. Just keep trying and slowly increase the above values until it takes.

I wasn't going to do this upgrade until later in my trucks life but got a deal I could not refuse for the cluster through a mutual connection. Price was way below what everyone was selling them for.

FYI - This was a cluster from a 2018 1500. Installed into my 2019 Classic.

Question when programming the Premium Cluster has anyone over wrote the VIN with theirs? Is this necessary? Is it recommended?

I didn't. I suppose there could be an issue around mileage accuracy if someone read the cluster VIN and it did not match the truck. Like wow this 2016 only has 5263 miles, that is low mileage!
