Hi,
Please, let me know what config do you have because I have added auto high beam in my 2014 ram 1500 but it doesn't work. If show high beam enable on cluster evic 7 and I can active it in my vp4.

These are the configurations in my ram.
Auto high beam = yes
Interior EC mirror = yes
Smart beam present(ahbm) = yes
Auto high beam location = ecc_ahbm
Ahbm csm = yes

68207372ac harness
68096094a mirror

Thanks
It looks like you have everything set right and the correct mirror. I have done this to several trucks including my 14 and it works fine. What exactly is it doing? A couple of things to note. The auto high beams will not work unless you have your headlights set to auto. It has to be dark enough for your auto headlights to turn on. When you have the auto high beam turned on and you switch your truck to high beams your high beams will not turn on until you reach a certain speed. The darker it is the sooner they will turn on. It will automatically turn back to low beam whenever you come to a stop or it senses oncoming traffic headlights. Have you driven the truck at night with the headlights set to auto and the auto high beam activated? It seems strange it's not working even though you are getting the message they are activated on your EVIC. Is your rear view mirror auto dim working?

Agreed. I forgot to tell him about the 'Auto' setting on the headlight switch. Other than that, it could be a defective mirror unless he's missing some of the wiring on the truck side of the 14 pin mirror header harness connector behind the passenger air vent (ie Pin 1).

For this upgrade all is needed is harness and mirror with smart beam?

17/18 trucks are a bit different/less straight forward than the 13-16's ... Depends on your trim level/current options & wiring but can be done with some verification of what you have pinned at the 14 pin mirror header harness connector.

If you have a 17-18 (& 19 classic) with factory 8.4 or ra2 that has the AutoDim Mirror already, than it's likely just a plug n play mirror swap and then enabling the BCM config settings.

Yes, I drove my truck at night with totally dark way and also with oncoming traffic but the headlighs be kept all time on low beam. The auto dim is working. The only problem with rear view mirror is a blinking red light on center of the mirror. The headlights set on Auto and Auto High Beam Enable. The evic 7" cluster show me a truck draw with headlights on and the following message "Auto High Beam Enable"

Blinking red led happens if there is an issue with auto high beam sensor. I'll check the service manual later to see if there is a fix procedure

From the service manual:

"SmartBeam(R) uses a red Light Emitting Diode (LED) unit to indicate certain faults it detects in the imager camera and circuitry. A slow (once-per-second) continual flashing of this LED indicates the SmartBeam(R) camera requires aiming. A constantly (solid) illuminated LED indicates the camera has failed aim. The LED is located to the right of the rearward facing ElectroChromic (EC) inside rear view mirror photo sensor, behind the top center of the mirror glass. This LED is only clearly visible when it is illuminated."

Is it slowly blinking or solid red?

If you have Alfa, you could connect to the BCM and try to see if there are any fault codes that might help.

Guys I have a problem, installed a UAQ from a chrysler that had an amplifier in my 2015 Ram 1500 so my problems is as follows:

after install AM/FM had sound but reverse camera didnt work
cycle the key of and on the camera works normally but no sound from AM/FM

all that is fine because I use carplay all the time so i stream all my music

I just got an alfaOBD 2 days ago and found the setting for amplifier so I set it to 5.7 amplified next day I get in the truck and I cant control the sound and it is set by defult to a high level.

So reverted the BCM to not programmed but still I dont have control over the sound.

Please help!

Scantool.net just sent me a Black Friday sales notice. They are selling their OBDLINK MX+

The mirror light is slowly blinking. (One-per-second)
The only fault code is B1632 :
Left high beam
Short circuit to + battery /open circuit
Error intermittent

Thanks!

Your high beams working ok? Clear the fault and see if auto high beams work again.

Yes, the high beam is working. I have cleared the fault. But the led on mirror continue blinking. I will try the auto high beam at night.

Thanks!

I would check the lens of the camera as well. Clean it gently with a microfiber cloth.

If you still have access to the wiring I would unplug it for a bit then plug it back in. Might be an issue of it needing to be just right during startup

Wife's Durango has the idiot gauge for coolant temp. Can AlfaOBD be used to see what the temp is actually?

I have disconnected the wiring harness of mirror(5min) but the issue continue. Also I have disconnected the battery (15min ) but the mirror led continue blinking and auto high beam doesn't work. Sensor was cleaned with eyeglasses wipe.
Thanks!

Hello

I trying to use the stationary desoot feature on the alphaobd on 2011 Ram Truck. I have met all the criteria and I keep getting conditions not met error. Also in reading the ecu I see desoot feature states no. Is there a way to turn the feature on? I tried resetting the counter and reset it back to zero.

Question - and maybe user error here - but i completed my front end conversion to all LEDs this weekend. High and low beams seem to be working fine, and i set both High and Low Beam LED = yes. However, i ran into two problems:

  • I am attempting to trigger an LED light bar off the high beams. I could not get this to work previously because the PWM control of the high beams caused the relay to chatter. I assumed that finally setting the high beam LED = yes, this would disable PWM and the relay would no longer chatter...but that didn't work. It still behaves exactly the same as it did before. I let the truck sit with the key out for 5+ minutes after changing the config, is that enough time? I went back and checked and alphaOBD does indeed think that LED high beam is set to Yes. I am using LED high beams with an inline canbus module, so that fact that the high beams work fine could be a red herring.
  • With park lamp DRL enabled, park lamp LED = yes, and LED turn signals = yes, i still get a bulb out message and my mirrors and dash hyperblink. Oddly, the actual LED turn signals work perfectly fine. These are switchback LEDs, so they're amber when in DRL mode and when the turn signal is activated, and white in running lamp mode (when the low beams are on). Again, functionally they are perfect, but i'm getting hyperblinking dash and mirror signals.

I know that my control via AlphaOBD is at least partially successful, because i enabled park lamp DRLs with no issue, and i was able to resolve flickering white switchback running lights (in the turn signal bulbs) by setting front park/marker lamp LED = yes. And, the settings are all as expected when i go back into AlphaODB. WOuld it be possible for Alphaobd to show the correct configuration but the BCM has not implemented it? Do i need more key cycles and/or to clear faults and/or take the truck out of park after applying settings and letting it sit?

Thanks for the help guys!

More than likely the actual temperature is available to read. You can also use an app called Torque to read the engine parameters. You can set up a dashboard of "gauges" to monitor while your driving.

I don't know of anyone who has done this on a 2011 yet. Might not be compatible with the older trucks? Just speculation on my part though.
