Redline 5w30 is the good stuff for a Hemi.
I’ve been using it for 11 years now, and my 5.7 is as non-ticking and smooth running as one could get.

Do a search on this forum for others experiences.

Just saw you have a 6.4 so I can not say as I’ve no experience with it, but others do.

I used Amsoil SS 0W-40 for many thousands of miles in my 6.4, always changing it at around 5,000 miles. Then I did a UOA at only 3,552 miles and discovered that it had already sheared quite significantly; almost to the point of being out of grade. The cSt viscosity at 100*C went from 14.8 (Amsoil Spec Sheet) to 11.76. The UOA is attached so you can see this fact for yourself. To each their own, of course, and some may have good results with it, but I will never use this oil again in my Hemi.

I switched to HPL Premium Plus 5W-40 a little over a year ago and although I have not done a UOA on it, engine is quiet at all temperatures and I no longer have a lifter tick at initial startup after the engine sits for a few days without being started.

As @Daw14 stated, Redline 5W-30 is a popular oil with folks on this forum as a search will quickly show you. I suggest that you spend some time on the Blackstone Used Oil Analysis Forum and the Synthetic Oil Thread. Lots of great fact-based information found in both threads and lots of friendly, knowledgeable members willing to help if you have more questions.

2017 Hemi 6.4 here. 0W-40 was the spec for the hell cat, carried over to the truck. There are few 0W-40's that don't shear down to 0W-30. Shearing the VII additive creates oxidation deposits and plugs oil galley orifices. Not good.

I use Red Line 5W-30 in summer and 0W-30 in winter. If I towed heavy all the time and/or lived in hot regions and/or lived in mountains I would use 5W-40.

I have put 40k on my ram using pup 0w40. Never had any issues, just contemplating other options. Never had any testing done on the oil. I don't know if Redline is available in this area. Thanks for the info.

I've used Amsoil SS in all my cars for the last 12+ years. I've never had a problem and it works just as well in the Hellcat as it does in my '14 RT

The Motor Oil Geek just did a comparison of a PUP blend to the equivalent Redline. They were very, very close in his test, so close that it wouldn't be worth the boutique price of Redline in my opinion.

I ran pup for the first year , when I switched to the 5w30 Redline oil it was a night and day difference in how my engine sounded.
I had full confidence in the Pup , however that changed with Redline .
I will work extra if needed to cover the difference in price, it sounds that much better .

It's currently on YouTube. Just bring up the Motor Oil Geek in search and you should see it.

ADDENDUM: My apologies. It was not comparing to Redline, but some other boutique brand.

96,000 miles on a 2021 power wagon. I've used nothing but 0w40 Valvoline full synthetic and the Mopar SRT filter that was made for the viper. I change the oil when the oil meter gets below 5% averages about 7,000 miles. I've never had an issue.

The truck 6.4 was built before the Hellcats came out Brian. The BGE block designed for the trucks, and went into production in 14,then was repurposed to be the hellcat block which came out in 2015.The Hellcat was rushed into production to counter Fords engine in the Mustangs which was rated at if i remember right 663hp

Didn't an early 6.4 go into cars prior to supercharged hellcat? i.e. a naturally-aspirated version?
It was called something else...R/T?

The non BGE block 6.4 came out in 2011 in the Chargers/Challengers and it was spec'd for 0W-40 to.

I got the same intervals/results here, except 2016/125k miles and use amsoil with whatever synthetic filter the parts store has on hand that day. Bought the truck new.
