Yup - do mine every 3 years max. DOT 3 is a polyglycol, hydroscopic - absorbs water (& entrained air), makes brakes spongy, rusts steel components.

You are correct G body GMC Caballero the master cylinder was newer so not original fluid unless they re used the fluid to fill the new one LOL
Probably a lot older than the 2 years you caution about though. I flush brakes on my vehicles and motorcycles. Some of the vehicles have gone for 5 years on the fluid, and I've never seen anything even close to what is in your pictures.

Most people don’t change it and just add more. Brake fluid is hygroscopic I suggest anyone not familiar to read into it and learn it could save your life
