I love my new setup, I could have gone with a $200-$400 Chinese Android headunit but you never know how good they will be. I have everything I want and need on this tablet, plus the added bonus to be able to remove it and take it with me if me and my gf want to lay in the bed of my truck at night and watch a movie or if we are at the park.

I still need to hide some of the wires and tuck them behind the center radio bezel, but since I plan on removing the center radio bezel and taking it apart and vinyl wrapping the sides, I don’t want to go through the trouble of tucking wires right now when I’m just going to be taking the bezel off again in a week or two.

Here's a quick pic of the installed Eonon.

The head unit is slightly taller then the opening but you can center it in the hole and it looks pretty good. The install kit I bought had the side filler plastic parts to fill the gap. It's not a bad fit for a double-din head unit fit into a 1.5 din space.

I did cut the back metal bracket and part of the plastic but not nearly as much as some of the youtube channel videos. There are some hacks doing installs out there so watch that. If you do it yourself you can cut minimal amounts. I bought a $20 air body saw from harbor freight for the install.

Nice mount for the tablet, but wouldn't work for my use - the Alpine system has the CD player behind the screen.

I've seen A Raspberry Pi used as a carputer, looks like an interesting project that can be added to as needed.

Still, so far the OEM system has worked well enough for me. Although it's slow to respond to VC sometimes.
