Another BDS Question

Bought a new 2014 1500 Big Horn 4x4 two months before I deployed so money is just waiting to be spent. Soooo need a little help.

Pulling the trigger on getting the BDS 6 inch kit with the fox shocks. Im just confused as to if I need the 3" or 5" by the way the word it.

For 3" Lift shocks
If your vehicle is 3" tail high from the factory then this is the appropriate selection to level your vehicle. This selection includes BDS by Fox 2.0 series rear shocks.

For 5" Lift shocks
If your vehicle is level to 1" of tail high stance then this is the appropriate selection. This selection includes BDS by Fox 2.0 series shocks.

Im going to guess that when you get a six inch lift, that it lifts the front six inches every time. Thus you need to measure the rear height to find out what you need to raise the ass up?

Are you getting the Fox 2.0 coilovers for the front? Or just using Fox shocks on the rear?

The difference in rear lift height is for the different amounts of rake that a truck has from the factory. A 6" kit with 3" rear coils will remove 2.5" of rake (as a 6" lift is actually 5.5"). A 6" kit with 5" rear coils will only remove 0.5" of rake. So if you plan on using stock struts and no additional lift on the front end then you want to go with the 3" rear coils to make the truck level. If you're using the Fox 2.0 coilovers or Bilsteins for additional front end lift then get the 5" rear coils and to go a 7.5" lift on the front end.

That is exactly the information I needed. Im not getting the coil overs. A 4 grand lift is not in the budget right now. I do plan on ordering the Bilstiens though. From what ive been reading Ill want to set those at 2.1 roughly to level everything out? Would you also have the exact part number I need? You seem super knowledgeable in all your posts so I figured Id just ask.

Yes you'll want the Bilsteins on the front set at 2.1" and you won't use the preload space that comes with the lift (it's a 5/8" thick ring). The Bilsteins take care of the preload for you. So then yes, you will want the 5" rear coils.
