Since I will trade around d 125k I don’t think it makes sense to pay more than a 5 yr 125k plan... maybe I am mistaken?

Honestly it comes down to lifestyle, expectations and goals.
I bought a 2015 RAM, had a couple flaky experiences while under factory warranty, became paranoid that sometime soon it would be coming out of my pocket and decided there is way too much that could go wrong.
I found out about the reseller market of MOPAR warranties, got a good price and purchased it. (Canceling the one I originally purchased at delivery.)
I am pretty meticulous about vehicle care, and with an unlimited mileage and unlimited time warranty, I am looking at my RAM as the last one I should have to buy, barring some unforeseen catastrophe.
Now, if you have money to burn, don’t care about car payments or always want to be in the newest model - I guess it doesn’t matter. Not trying to be a smarta$$, but as someone who puts on 20k miles a year, I want a high ceiling for mileage and limited risk ($100 deductible) for repairs.
The latest models of RAM are gorgeous, and frankly nicer (not necessarily more equipped) but more refined.
I can’t see jumping into a new one every 4-6 years...not at that cost. Way I see it, I have my truck, and my next vehicle can be something to race around on the weekend. And I will still be under warranty long after payments are complete.
BTW, there are limitations to the warranty. Transferability, vehicle mods, etc. all need to be factored in...but FCA is the only one who offers lifetime, and that may be enough to keep me as a customer for future vehicles.
The thought of anything electronic going bad is enough to make me sick. Not like years ago where repairs are simple.
