Max Care covers everything except wear and tear.

I didn’t invest in lifetime warranty because of rotors and calipers.

It’s the electronics and big ticket items that I am guarding against. I have 42K on my 2015 Big Horn.

Purchased with 20k 11 mos. ago and want to be sure that there is still a protected and drivable vehicle when it is paid off.

BUT the big difference is all the electronics in the RAM vs the Frontier. Since the stuff is so modular its probably as simple as "just" replacing a module, but for electronics I would not buy used, only new, and brand new some of these modules are expensive. I bet THAT is where the warranty will pay off.

True on that, but a lot of the electronics are covered under Federal emissions warranty for 6-7yrs and 100K, so even some of those are a gamble.

I'd buy one for $1/day, but $3000+ upfront for trucks in the price range I buy? No thanks.

Yep, it’s expensive. Have a friend with a 2014 and needed to replace his radio/head unit. Cost him $700 at dealer with a discount on labor. That 25% of the cost of the warranty.

No way I am fighting with a dealer about what electronics may/should be covered.

Having absolutely no technical aptitude, I won’t try and fix anything on my own so it bought me peace of mind and I have no expectation of ever having to purchase another truck again.

I have traded vehicles that near 100k miles simply because I feared what they may need. It’s only ever kept me in a continual car payment.

I was more thinking BCM, PCM, TCM, head unit, door modules, heated seat module (if applicable), etc. Dont forget the lovely TIPM that may or may not stop working years down the road.

For my 2012 Ram, I only purchased the extended warranty that covered up to 100K mileage. Most of my repairs were at the 150K+ mileage and out of my pocket, so that's why I spent the extra $600 for this lifetime warranty. I plan on retiring about the same time as the truck is paid off and really don't want to purchase another, or have to pay for any big ticket items, other than the $100 deductible. I drive much less these days so I hope to be less than 100K when I make the last payment. If this truck is like the others I will be keeping it much longer than they want us to, so I consider the cost to be a long term investment.
