On my system it put it in that same location (C:\Program Files (x86)\AlfaOBD\Logs\ConfigBackup_<date>.txt. I pulled mine up, and it looks the same as yours, so I suspect the information that's pulled in there is al coded as hexadecimal. Hope that helps!

I believe I saw somewhere on the forum that it had to be tweaked and how to convert it?

I may have done it incorrectly as I'm a novice at this:baby: (Had to use that one LOL.)

When it copies the settings, is it for the entire truck?
Where is that option found :baby: (Had to use that one LOL.)

IF so, can those settings be used to set up or flash/reprogram a replacement ECM BCM etc.

See I'm getting up on the technology using the fancy terms LOLA.
thanks for your help and everyone else's as well

I reconnected and downloaded the config file again . SOS a bunch of numbers, Found an old post where the guy said he converted the .txt file to a PDF and all was good.
tried that and had the same numbers now in a PDF file
tried a hex converter no help there either. I'll do a bitmore digging and then email Alpha if no one has any other suggestions

Ok, here it is.

Connect AlfaOBD to the vehicle and connect to PC bluetooth connection.
Click on "status / faults".

Down the bottom you have "View Log" Click on that and PC should ask what to view it with. Click "note pad" as viewer. (sorry for blurred picture, but you get the jist)

Once the TXT file open, click on the "File _ Save as" button and save it as a TXT where you can find it.

I just did it on my truck and it is how it works.

thank you for your efforts. I will try that and report back. At this point I'm thinking I should have done the cell as moving the laptop etc is a PITA but between the tremors and my lack of familiarity with the cell the laptop is probably best for now.
When i buy a used vehicle i have always gone over it end to end and have found doing so usually pays off with manytroubl free miles/ years.
So, I spent an hour or so yesterday trying to access/check the cabin filter. All the you tube videos etc. :banghead::banghead::banghead:
I later found out it never had one and weren't installed at the factory until 2017 but no one mentioned that. :Frustrated:
Thanks again for your help and I will post back :happy160:

Thank you very much ;) I also responded to your message. I couldn't attach the file there but could here.

Attached is the original gibberish file and the readable file I was finally able to get. the readable file is a bit different than yours but I'm thinking it's OK ?
Would be nice if Alexi would respond :(
thanks for your help :happy160:
I also ran across this and thought about offering it for sale here and elsewhere. Your thoughts? Should definitely be stickied to the top of the Alfa thread
.

No problem, glad you got it.

Please don't be too hard on Alexi, as he has been VERY responsive to me when I contacted him. He may something going on that takes priority, such as health or family issues.

Valid point. I have read of others having some issues recently so its a possibility. I've also wondered if the answers are buried somewhere in the 738? pages of Alpha responses on this forum which he does reference when needing help and so he thinks READ, RESEARCH etc. while he tends to other things that may be of more urgency.

thank you again
